The Nike Air Max III is back! On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the iconic Air Max 90 silhouette, Nike lets it rip again and goes with the new “Laser Blue” to the start! In 1987, Tinker Hatfield debuted his pride and joy – the visible Air Unit in the Air Max 1, followed just a few years later by the Air Max 90, whose Air Unit was not only much larger than the AM 1’s, but also highlighted by color accents. The AM90 is an absolute legend among Nike’s Air range and has been for 30 years! For Nike, and for us, a reason to celebrate this anniversary properly! Technically speaking, the Air Max 90 was already in a completely different league. Created as a performance running shoe, the AM90 was created with a new midsole made of two separate parts. This made the sneaker even more comfortable and also guaranteed greater durability. Hatfield also provided the 90 with his trademark: The cut Nike “Swoosh”. This year Nike Sportswear already presented some ingenious, brand new colorways of the AM90, like the “90’s Dancefloor” or the “Cuban Link”. But with the “Eggplant” the Swoosh invokes the beginnings of the iconic silhouette and sets on OG vibes. Nike is inspired not only in the colorway, but also in the naming of the origins. The Air Max 90 was known exclusively under the name Air Max III before 2006. In addition, the brand promises that this release is closer to the original from 1990 than it has been for a long time! So we get here the nicen Shape of yesteryear and a retro sizelabel.
